So I've realized that if you want to go fast.. and I mean sub 10second 1/4 mile fast you can't use a Datsun without spending tons of money and ruining the excellent handling these cars are known to be.
So instead of ruining a perfect autocross car or canyon carver to make a drag car I'd be better off selling the Datassun and buying a back halved drag car. One with a roll cage , rear end , and chassis that will hold the type of power I'm shooting for .
So here it is Oppo . First dibs goto ya'll cars mod list is below.
Engine - 5.3 Cast Iron Block
Trans- T56 fully built that came out of a 800hp+ LS7 Camaro.
Suspension - Suspension tech linear rated springs with Tokico illumina struts that are 5 way adjustable .
Interior - Aftermarket seats covered in mexican blankets.
Paint and body - The car could use a paint job obviously. I covered the car in plasti dip just to find out it doesn't want to come off when you don't have clear coat.. HORRIBLE MISTAKE !
However, the body is very straight with only minimal rust around the gas cap door and a little rust on the driver side frame rail. The deck lid is rust free along with the battery tray which are usual the first to rust away.

No offense and do your thing (seriously, feel free to completely ignore me), but that's one of my least favorite things in car ads. I intentionally set up CL during searches to exclude them. Price range $500-$5000 or whatever I want to dream about spending. cuts out the $1 or no price ads. I'd never contact someone without an asking price.

Understandable. I'm sure you understand that some people really want a S30 with a LS power plant and may be willing to pay more than I ask for it. So while I could put a 15k price tag on it and let them talk me down I'd rather see where their head is and judge my interest in dealing with them from there. Obviously don't want to waist my time on people who don't have the expendable income to purchase a car like this .

I hear you.
I'm a little crazy about blind offers. It comes from buying a house, first house we bought evertime we were bidding on one someone else bid and they wouldn't tell us what the other persons offer was, but still asked me to raise mine. I said no, if my offer wins great, if it doesnt maybe you should have told me their offer so I could try and beat it.
My worry is I'll be too high and lose big for no reason.
If I had 15k to throw around without worry I probably wouldn't be so concerned about car ads that didn't have prices! Hahaha! Probably one of those "If you have to ask it's too expensive" scenarios.
Good luck man! What are you thinking about for your sub 10 second car? I vote Fox Body.

Yes yes I have the car has no current warrant on it . The issue I have is with Texas charging me double for ticket or atleast that's my take on it. They want me to pay 1500 in surcharges and I don't agree I owe them at all. A majority of american's just submit to the system and pay their hard earned dollars not to be pestered by the gov anymore .. I'm just not one of them.

We'll see hopefully I find something interesting that's race ready. I found a Rx7 with a LS swap kit and I think it may be easier to go fast with that but I'm really looking for something with a roll cage , rear end , and overall chassis that can handle going sub 10 second 1/4 miles.

Fox body is the obvious answer. I was thinking RX7 or Opel or mailtruck ? I'd love to get my hands on a mail truck as they are on S10 chassis and I know I can roll a big beefy rear end under it no problem. Same goes for mounting the new LS engine .. It would be stupid simple in a LLV because of the S10 chassis they were built on.

you can make a truly insane ride out of an 80's 2 door s10 Blazer. Cool trucks. I had a pretty solid built one as my first vehicle, we built the engine by hand, total rebuild.
